Hey friends, I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted on this blog, but I promise that is going to change! I’ve been busy in the last 5 years - I graduated from university, got a part time job and after 2 years out of uni, have decided to go back and start my MA. I’ve certainly lived up to my nickname of busy bee!!
Whilst I’ve been away, I also made some new videos. I only just got around to editing them because my computer died. Eventually, I made the decision to actually “downsize” to an iPad. I went for this because of it’d portability and it means I can use my desk to craft on now!
One of the first videos I want to show you is this miniature cereal bowl tutorial. I’ve been requested to make this video for a while now, so I thought I’d finally make it!
I hope you like this tutorial and, if you do make this, please tag me on Instagram @petiteclaypatisserie and use the hashtag #petiteclaymakes - I’d love to see them!
I get a lot of questions and I've seen a few people ask about texturing polymer clay cakes. So I thought I'd make a tutorial series called "Starting Simple" and I'll make little tutorials on simple things you can learn to help your polymer clay creations ☺️ so this one is on how to create cake texture. I show you two ways that I know and I am in no means saying that these are the right or only ways of doing this, these are just the ways that I know!
What would you like to see next? A cookie texturing tutorial? Sprinkles? Icing? Let me know with a comment or tell me on Instagram! ☺️
Hey everyone,
I'm sorry I keep forgetting that I have this blog!! I'll try to keep posting more often now. So here is my recent charm update.. I upload to my YouTube every Saturday now (starting this week...). I had a few troubles with uploading videos recently, that's why it's taken me so long to upload one, I have no idea why but hopefully it's sorted itself out now. Also, I've been busy crafting things for and decorating my new art & craft shed! (I'll do a post on this later).
So here is the video, thank you for watching and I'll see you again soon.
I am such a bad human! I'm so sorry I haven't posted on here in OVER A MONTH?! Like where the heck have you been Laura ππ±
So I moved back home last week for the summer holidays/vacation and I've been crafting a LOT! I've also made it so that I upload a video to my YouTube channel every Saturday, which is more regular π
So here are some of my creations so far, I've made a ton more but here are the ones I've been posting on Instagram (which you might have seen if you follow me - thank you πππ)
This slurpuff necklace was a custom order I had recently off a lovely repeat customer ☺️π
So that's it so far, I'll post my YouTube videos on here next so you can see them.
Hey everyone, I got back to the UK on Thursday afternoon and boy, was I tired! As soon as I got back in, I just kept falling asleep anywhere I sat down. Eventually, I went to bed at 9pm and slept until 9am the following morning so I slept around 12 hours! how insane is that?! I've only just got back into my normal routine of sleeping, which I was scared I wasn't going to be able to do.
So, whilst I was over there I visited a few stationery and craft shops as well as Target and K-mart, of which shops we don't have here in the UK so I was very eager to visit. Being the stationery addict and magpie I am, I ended up buying a ton of stuff from each shop and then when I got back here to the UK I found out that Typo have actually opened a shop over here too! bonus! haha. Unfortunately it's down south so I can't pop in every day but I've just ordered another pile of products from them and I cannot wait for it to turn up!
Anyhow, I made a haul video of 99.9% of the stuff I bought whilst I was there. The reason its 99.9% is that I bought two phone cases - one of which is on my phone and one is at home along with a sculpey texture mat set I bought and some fake grass (which you will probably see in future projects!). So here is the video:
Thanks for watching and I'll see you again soon!
*Disclaimer* All of the opinions are mine and I bought the products with my own money. I was not paid at all to mention these products.
I went to Glenelg and when I saw that there was a Kikki.K I had to visit since there's only one in the UK which is in London; a bit too far for me to go. So I thought I'd stop by since I'm already there! Hopefully they open one in Manchester soon.
Here's an overview of the things I bought! I'm so excited to use them but I might save them for a haul video.
So first thing I bought was this super cute bird pen. It's sort of greyish with navy coloured birds on it! Super cute ☺️ I also bought a plain pale blue one which I forgot to photograph separately, not sure what the ink is because I haven't used it yet but they will fit nicely in my planner loop ☺️.
Next thing was this rainbow ink pen; it has red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Much different and colourful than the standard ones we have at home!
I also bought this planner dashboard kit which I'm totally excited to use and see what's inside π. The colours are perfect for my planner.
This is the inspiration board "kit" which just contains little cards with different sayings and phrases on. I'll probably put these in my planner too rather than make an inspiration board.
Close up of my inspiration board kit! Love the gold/copper accents on the things in the kit.
And last but not least, these gold and cream stickers that I'm so excited to just put everywhere!! Loving this copper/gold trend π. You can use these for anything so you can stick them on your gift wrappings, scrapbook etc.
So that's my haul from Kikki.K, I'll hopefully get around to going to Target again. Unfortunately I got a head cold from surfing, trust me to go and pick it up! Hopefully should be gone in a few days π.
So here are some pictures of my most recent haul from a few shops here in Australia!
First, we went to Target which is a shop we don't have at home in the UK. I bought the washi tape, pens and the 2 pens, notebook and bunting flag sticky notes from Target. I absolutely love it in there so I'm hoping I can go again before we come home!!
Next, we went to K-Mart which is similar to Target. I bought the phone cases, bag and clear stickers there and they were very cheap! $3 AUD for the phone cases which is equivalent to about £1.50 in GBP. The exchange rate is about half of the Australian dollars.
So then I went to a craft shop called RIOT I believe haha weird name, right? That's where I bought the sculpey texture mats/boards which look very interesting and I can't wait to use them! There looks to be a waffle texture one so that would be awesome.
Hopefully I'll be going again so I might be able to get more!! ☺️
So some news (probably not to some that I keep telling haha) I've shut my Etsy shop for a little while whilst I'm on holiday in Australia for 3 weeks! I'm so excited, I fly next week. It's a 7 hour flight to Dubai where I take a little stop and swap planes and then its a long 13 hour flight to Australia. I have to say I'm dreading the long haul flight but it will be totally worth it to see such a beautiful place. :) I'll hopefully be blogging my travels on here as I go along.
Thanks for stopping by & I'll see you again soon :)
I hope you've all been having a super duper weekend! :)
Today is my 21st birthday, I'm now a fully fledged adult and I have to go around editing all my profiles so it says 21 instead of 20 - imagine if there was some way of doing this haha!!
So here is a birthday cupcake that I made a while ago now (I actually made two!) - it's a little pastel pink cupcake base with a little candle on top and sprinkles. I hope you all like it, I should have more products coming soon to my Etsy!
Hey everyone, I've finally filmed this planner set up video. I bought this recently-ish, around December 2015. I feel like this is the most handiest planner I've had because its fairly small and not as bulky as my Paperchase planner was. I'm mainly using this for personal use and my Paperchase planner for my shop (I didn't want to stop using it entirely, it's too pretty!!). So here's the video, I hope you enjoy it :) thanks for stopping by!
Hey everyone, I made these a while ago but didn't have any ring bases to go on to the cake so I recently bought some in silver and gold. There is this silver one and also a gold one up on my Etsy Link is in the sidebar and also at the bottom on this blog ☺️
I think I'm going to have to make more cakes soon! I love making them, definitely my favourite things to make.
